Media sources indicate that Modesto police officials are still looking for a man that allegedly shot a 20-year-old man after a rear-end collision in Modesto Tuesday.
According to Lt. Rick Armendariz, the men began arguing after one man’s vehicle collided with the other vehicle’s rear. While assessing the damage from the accident, which happened around 10pm, the argument escalated until the suspect took a gun from his waistband and pointed it directly at the 20-year-old victim.
The victim attempted to escape the situation by driving away in his vehicle, but the suspect pursued him. The victim exited his vehicle in a residential area and began to run towards a house. At that point, the suspect fired the gun, struck the victim in the back and drove away from the scene.
Police officers found the victim lying in a yard in front of a home. His injuries were not reported to be life threatening.
