A single-vehicle accident downed a utility pole and closed a local road near Oxnard on Tuesday afternoon, report news sources.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at about 1:15 p.m. a 25-year-old Oxnard man was driving a pickup truck westbound on East Hueneme Road near Casper Road when he veered off the road and struck a power pole, sheering the post off at its base.
A CHP report stated that the driver was not injured in the incident.
Authorities said that East Hueneme Road between Rice Avenue and Olds Road was shut down for about 30 minutes following the accident. While a Southern California Edison crew replaced the utility pole, authorities reopened the road.
Reports did not indicate if any customers lost power due to the toppled power pole.
