According to news sources, a fatal single-vehicle collision took place Tuesday night on Highway 101 when the driver of a vehicle seemingly lost control of the car and caused it to exit the roadway and hit a tree.
The male driver was traveling on Highway 101 in a Ford F-150 with another male passenger inside the vehicle when the car veered off the roadway before colliding with the tree, a California Highway Patrol officer said. A witness at the scene said that the truck swerved before traveling about 150 feet prior to hitting the tree.
The CHP said that the driver did not appear to have hit the brakes. The vehicle was reportedly traveling at high speeds at the time when it crashed.
The two occupants of the vehicle were both killed in the crash. A CHP officer said that impairment may have allegedly been a factor in the accident however the incident is still currently under investigation.
