According to multiple local news agencies, two people were seriously injured in an SUV accident that happened in Concord last Thursday.
The official report released by the California Highway Patrol has demonstrated that the SUV was traveling on the northbound lanes of the Kirker Pass Road at an unknown time when the vehicle suddenly veered off the road, spun out and flipped over at Kirker Pass and Hess Roads. One person was trapped inside of the wrecked vehicle and two others were able to get out quickly.
The authorities responded to the scene right away and were able to extricate the trapped passenger. Two people were sent to the hospital after troopers claimed they were found sustaining serious injuries, including the person who was rescued from the crashed vehicle.
The causes behind this crash are still unknown but an investigation is underway. No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries have been reported.
At this moment, it’s our hope that both victims of this accident are being able to recover quickly and fully from the wounds they sustained in this unfortunate crash. I encourage the California Highway Patrol investigators to look into this case thoroughly to learn more about the factors that may have facilitated this crash so a similar occurrence can be avoided in the future.
I also would like to remind drivers they must remember that drowsy driving is just as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol. If you feel you’re too tired to continue, pull over at a safe rest area and take a nap. Do no jeopardize your own safety.
