On Monday morning, six cars crashed in Placentia on the 57 freeway. At around 9:30am, the crash was reported just north of Orangethorpe Avenue on southbound 57 by the California Highway Patrol. The first reports heard by police said there were three vehicles involved in the crash, but a second series of accidents happened when another vehicle swerved to avoid the wreck. Three cars blocked the first and second HOV lanes, and three other vehicles pulled over to the right shoulder of the freeway. Two Toyota Camrys were involved in the collision, along with a Lexus IS 250, Hyundai Elantra, Plymouth Voyager, and Toyota SR5.
According to news reports, no injuries resulted from the crashes, which caused traffic to be backed-up for miles north of the collision.
