Price Chopper Supermarkets is issuing an emergency recall for multiple units of streusel-topped fruit pies sold in several retailers across the nation.
According to several news sources, these particular food products have egg as one of its ingredients although it’s not stated in the label. Since egg consumption could pose a serious risk to individuals who are highly allergic, consumers are advised they should return all recalled units to the retailer of purchase for a full refund.
The Food and Drug administration has revealed that all apple, cherry, blueberry and peach streusel pies could lead to serious and sometimes ever life-threatening allergic reactions in individuals with a high intolerance to eggs.
As a San Diego personal injury lawyer, I sincerely hope Price Chopper is now contacting all consumers who have purchased these items in the past weeks to ensure they will refrain from consuming these recalled pies.
At our personal injury law firm, consumer safety is our number one priority. My colleagues and I have seen several similar recalls in the past and we know of the serious consequences they entail. Because certain companies choose to put profit before safety, you should always be attentive to all recall news out there.
I encourage you to return to our blog often so you’re always aware of the threats certain products could pose to consumers. Keep it in mind that if you were harmed in any way through the use or consumption of a recalled or contaminated food product, you may like to ask a personal injury lawyer in your area for a free evaluation of your case.
