A student, according to a series of news articles, wrote a Public Service Announcement that hoped to warn others about the dangers of driving while distracted, namely, using hand phones while in control of a vehicle.
Her participation in the contest earned her $500 dollars in reward money for an effective short story that would show others how an accident could have been prevented if a motorist had allowed her passenger to handle her handheld phone instead of handling it herself while behind the wheel.
