Media sources reported that a Linda parolee is being held in Sutter County Jail after leading Sutter County deputies on a high-speed chase Monday night.
The 32-year-old man fled Sheriff’s deputies just before 11:30pm Monday night when a deputy tried to pull him over for a vehicle code violation. The man reportedly led police on a 2.7-mile pursuit through residential areas in which he reached speeds of about 80mph. At one point, the man abandoned the vehicle he was driving at Nicolaus Avenue and Sanborn Road and fled on foot through four front yards. He was arrested in a front yard without further incident, according to Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Brenda Baker.
Other than evading police, the man was arrested on warrant that alleged second-degree burglary, unlawful use of credit cards and embezzling from an elderly person. His wife was booked into Yuba County jail on similar charges on June 30.
The man is being held on $100,000 bail for these charges.
