According to news sources, an accident took place involving a school bus when an SUV apparently ran a red traffic light and slammed into the Fresno school bus, injuring four people.
The accident took place at Grantland and McKinley when the SUV reportedly ran a stop sign and collided with the side of the Fresno school bus, the California Highway Patrol said. The vehicle then went on to spin uncontrollably before once again smashing into the school bus. A CHP official said that these school buses are built very efficiently and well, therefore absorbing most of the shock.
Two students inside the bus were injured in the accident and transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the SUV and the school bus were also reportedly injured in the crash. Both are expected to survive the collision.
