According to a series of news articles, Suzuki has recalled over 4,900 units of 2012 GSX-R1000 Motorcycles over possible crash risks.
The official recall announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has indicated that these motorcycles manufactured by Suzuki were equipped with bolts that could become loose unexpectedly, which could eventually lead to a side stand interlock switch failure. According to the firm, this failure could cut the ignition circuit abruptly while the motorcycle is in use and the engine could ultimately stop running. This problem could cause an accident and the rider could become seriously injured as a result. To avoid accidents and to keep riders safe, the company along the federal agency has issued this recall.
The official recall announcement has also revealed that all units of motorcycles are being repaired for free at authorized Suzuki dealers.
If you own any of these recalled vehicles, contact the manufacturer at once and ask about the ways this recall could affect you and schedule a visit to a dealer right away.
Hopefully, more companies will continue this proactive trend all recall announcements will be issued before any injuries are reported. Too often, people get injured in accidents caused by defective vehicles before any recall alert is issued. Never wait until you’re hurt to react.
Stay safe and keep your loved ones safe by keeping up with all recall news.
