Chicken Sausages Recalled Due to Undeclared Whey

In a press release, the Silva Sausage Co. announced the recall of around 29,000-pounds of chicken sausage products because of misbranding and the presence of the undeclared allergen cultured whey. This recall affects all 14-ounce retail packages of “Silva Sausage Smoked Chicken Apple Sausage, Hickory Smoked Chicken with Apples & Sage” and10-pound cases with 2, 5-pound packages of “Silva Sausage Smoked Chicken Apple Sausage.” Each package has the establishment number “P-6086” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection.
