Media sources reported that the California Highway Patrol released the details of an alleged drunken driving accident the happened Friday morning and killed two people in Avila Beach. The driver of the 2004 Saturn Vue involved in a single-car crash on Avila Beach Drive one week ago is being held at the San Luis Obispo County Jail without bail following his arrest. A Chico man is in jail on two charges of second-degree murder following a single-vehicle crash in Avila Beach that killed two people. According the California Highway Patrol, the 21-year-old man was driving a 2004 Saturn Vue in the wee hours of Friday morning when the vehicle crashed near a golf course at about 12:10 a.m. Two passengers, a 21-year-old Eureka man and a 21-year-old Castro Valley man were killed in the rollover accident. Two men died and two were suffered major injuries in a single-vehicle accident in Avila Beach early Friday morning, report media sources. Details regarding the fatal crash are scant. According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 2:10 a.m., a silver Saturn Vue was traveling on Avila Beach Drive just west of Cave Landing Road.
