A big rig closed part of a major Los Angeles-area thoroughfare Friday morning after jackknifing and spilling its load on the roadway, report news sources. The 18-wheeler was hauling blacktop on Sepulveda Boulevard near Steven Drive in Encino when around 4:15 a.m. the tractor-trailer jackknifed and overturned. Blacktop oozed out on to the roadway forcing the closure of some southbound lanes, say police reports. The driver of the big rig was uninjured in the crash. Clean up crews reported to (read more)
