It’s been reported by several media outlets that Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay around $600,000 in the first settlements out of the 8,000 lawsuits filed against the company over defective and recalled hip implants. According to the several articles mentioning this settlement, these hip implants were recalled back in 2010. Patients with the recalled implants suffered infections, bone fractures and some were even immobilized due to joint dislocations reportedly caused by the metal implants.
