News reports stated that several fires ignited in San Bernardino County Monday, pouring smoke into the sky and restricting traffic flow on Interstate 15. The biggest of the fires, referred to as the Ken fire, started at approximately 1pm near Kenwood Road in the Cajon Pass. News reports indicate that an accident involving a loaded big-rig, two pickup trucks and a sedan happened Tuesday on southbound I-15 at Carroll Canyon Road in Mira Mesa, sending three people to the hospital. The catalyst in the collision was the big-rig’s rear axle detaching from the trailer, hitting the sedan and causing the pickups to crash, according to authorities.
