News sources reported that a 20-year-old Santa Cruz man was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol for drunken driving and possessing a weapon Saturday. The man was driving his BMW sedan north on Empire Grade when he was pulled over by CHP officer Sarah Jackson. Jackson said that the initial stop was because she noticed the man was playing his car stereo excessively loud. The BMW pulled into the UCSC campus after being directed to stop around 6pm. A woman and her 2 children were injured in a car accident on Highway 129 Tuesday morning. The woman was driving a Jeep on Highway 129 when she lost control of the vehicle. A motorcyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a vehicle on Water Street Monday. Police reports indicate that the accident happened when a Toyota Camry was pulling out of a Gold’s Gym parking lot and was struck by the motorcyclist. According to Lt.
