News sources reported that a 20-year-old Santa Cruz man was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol for drunken driving and possessing a weapon Saturday. The man was driving his BMW sedan north on Empire Grade when he was pulled over by CHP officer Sarah Jackson. Jackson said that the initial stop was because she noticed the man was playing his car stereo excessively loud. The BMW pulled into the UCSC campus after being directed to stop around 6pm.
