According to several local news agencies, a teenager from Clearlake was unfortunately killed as a result of an accident that happened last Tuesday night.
Official accident reports issued by the California Highway Patrol have divulged that a 19-year-old man was an occupant of a vehicle that drove off the west edge of Highway 29, rolled down an embankment and crashed against a tree and rocks.
According to one account, the 23-year-old driver was spotted driving her 1997 Chrysler Sebring recklessly just before the accident that resulted in the death of one passenger. The troopers who responded to the scene of the crash revealed that two other people were injured and that the authorities took the driver into custody after she was treated for her injuries in a local hospital.
It’s not yet known if all occupants had their seat belts on at the time of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol is now investigating this accident.
It’s my hope as a personal injury lawyer Glendale that the family and closest friends of the man killed in this accident are being able to receive all the support they deserve in this time of grief. My most heartfelt condolences go out to them. I encourage drivers in California to keep it in mind that the minute you get behind the wheel of your vehicle while intoxicated, you’re putting the lives of countless people in danger. Avoid engaging in an erratic behavior that will risk others and put your own life in jeopardy and have a designated driver responsible for driving you home after you have a few drinks.
Whenever you or a loved one is injured in an auto accident that was caused by a drunken driver, you might want to consult with a personal injury lawyer near you to learn about the legal options available to your case.
