With summer just around the corner more and more people will be loading up the car and taking that road trip to some place fun and exciting, or perhaps heading to grandma’s house. According to this article the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) has said that approximately 660 fatalities and 33,000 injuries because of low tire pressure alone.

Rotate Your Tires-
You should rotate your tires roughly every 7,500 miles to prevent uneven tire wear and to also make sure your alignment is correct.

It’s important to make sure your tires are at the correct tire pressure. If you have tires that are overinflated or underinflated you can get irregular/uneven tire wear that could result in a car accident. So check the sidewall of your tire and make sure that you inflate it to the correct PSI (pounds per square inch.)
Check Tread Depth-
Something that you might not think about very often, but is very important is to check the depth of your tires tread. If you are driving around on tires that don’t have enough tread you run the risk of an accident because you don’t have proper traction. You can purchase a tire tread gauge at an auto parts store.
Don’t Overload Your Vehicle-
I know that it’s important to make sure you have all the necessities before heading out on the road, but it’s also important to NOT overload your vehicle. If you car is overloaded it can cause uneven wear on the tires and put your suspension under too much stress.
