According to a recent recall announcement issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, certain products sold at Toys R Us are being recalled over possible choking hazards.
The official recall statement issued by the federal agency has revealed that sets known as Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Centers are being recalled to keep small children from attempting to swallow the small knobs that attached to the xylophone keys in these centers. The small wooden items could become detached from its end and a child could try to swallow it, posing a serious choking hazard to users.
In light of recent reports, the company has stated that the Toys R Us stores have stopped selling these toy centers. Consumers are urged to check their children’s toys for the recalled items immediately. According to the federal agency, at least eight reports of knobs becoming detached have surfaced but no serious injuries were reported.
Parents can identify the Imaginarium 5-Sided Activity Centers by the wooden multi-colored xylophone and the name “Imaginarium” that can be found printed in the center of an oval-shaped logo present in the product.
The toy’s model number “46284” can be found printed on the back of the box with the barcode 000799985462841.
All recalled units were sold at Toys R Us stores between August 2009 and September 2010.
The federal agency urges consumers to respond to this recall promptly and to keep it in mind that it’s against the law to attempt to resell any recalled consumer product.
