Two lanes of traffic were blocked early this morning when a big rig detached from a trailer carrying lumber on Highway 101. The California Highway Patrol said the driver was not injured or cited due to his 22.5-ton trailer detaching from the truck at about 6am north of Lincoln Avenue. “He was going in a straight line and the trailer dropped off the back,” an officer said. “It was a mechanical issue.” Traffic was slowed until about 7:45am when the wreckage was cleared.
According to news reports, weather was not a factor in the incident, however steady rain throughout Wednesday morning were a factor in multiple traffic accidents in Marlin. “There (were) little crashes everywhere,” an officer said. One of those crashes involved a Honda Civic when it hydroplaned on Highway 101 and crashed into a wall south of Lincoln Avenue. A crash was also reported on southbound Highway 101 a half-hour later near Novato Boulevard.
As a Los Angeles personal injury lawyer, I’m glad no one was hurt more seriously when the tractor-trailer detached. If you or a loved one were hurt in an auto wreck resulting from negligent driving, discuss your case with a qualified car accident lawyer who can assess your case and protect your rights.
