Multiple news sources reported in recent articles that a 6-year-old died after a truck hit the vehicle the child was riding.
The California Highway Patrol revealed in an official release that a vehicle became stalled while traveling on the southbound lanes of the Highway 99. A box truck driver did not notice the stopped vehicle and failed to swerve, crashing into its back. Four people who were occupying the stalled vehicle were sent to the hospital, including three children. The crash slowed down traffic for hours, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 6-year-old child was taken to the hospital where she was reportedly pronounced dead.
