According to multiple articles, two accidents that happened over the past weekend have claimed two lives.
Both accidents occurred along the same stretch of the Pescadero Creek Road and are now being investigated.
The two official accident reports issued by the California Highway Patrol have revealed that the first accident happened when a 57-year-old man from Scotts Valley was riding his motorcycle on the eastbound lanes of the road suddenly drifted off the road, drove over the shoulder and was thrown down an embankment where he crashed 50-foot below the road. The man suffered severe injuries as a result of the accident and was declared dead later at the hospital.
The second accident didn’t happen too far away from the scene of the first crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The report shows that the unidentified rider on a Harley Davidson was traveling on the Pescadero Creek Road when he drove across the centerline for unknown reasons, crashed into a Lotus vehicle and as a result, was sent airborne after the impact. The rider was rushed to the hospital in a helicopter where he was later pronounced dead.
At this moment, the reasons behind both accidents are still unknown. The California Highway Patrol is investigating both crashes and should have more details regarding these occurrences in the future. I’m very saddened to have learned that two people were fatally wounded in these two accidents. My most heartfelt condolences go out to the riders’ families and friends.
