According to a series of news agencies covering recall announcements, certain models of trucks built by UD Trucks North America were manufactured with air brakes that fail to comply with federal requirements, which could cause a crash.
The official recall announcement issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has revealed that all 2008 through 2010 UD 3300 Trucks were modified posteriorly and the primary and secondary air brakes present in these trucks ended up losing the original isolation between the two systems. If either of the air brakes present in these trucks experiences an air leak while the truck’s engine is on drivers could observe a total loss of braking power and an accident could occur.
To prevent accidents from happening, the company decided to put the driver’s safety ahead of profits and is now recalling all units of these potentially hazardous trucks. Up to this moment, the company stated that no reports of incidents have surfaced. Hopefully, this recall campaign is carried out successfully and in a prompt manner.
Any of my colleagues urge you to contact the manufacturer at once if you have any of these trucks in your possession. Contact an authorized dealer and schedule a visit to have the air brakes in your recalled truck inspected and repaired for free.
Any major inquiry regarding this recall announcement should be addressed to the manufacturer or the federal agency. Act fast and stay safe.
