News sources report that a man died Sunday morning after a single-vehicle crash in Las Lomas.
According the California Highway Patrol, the 21-year-old Watsonville man was driving a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant on Hall Road just east of Elkhorn Road at around 7:10 a.m. when the sedan went off the road and traveled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Authorities responded to the scene of the North Monterey County crash where the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials are investigating the incident, but, at the time of reporting, investigators did not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor in the fatal crash.
