The Ford Motor Company has recently issued a recall for some of the 2012 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator models. The recalled vehicles were manufactured between November 19th, 2011 and
December 2nd, 2011.
According to the information released by the carmaker and the news, the recalled vehicles were equipped with inadequate welds on the head restraint support brackets, which is in contravention of the Federal Motor Vehicles Safety Standard number 202. This issue could cause severe injuries in the case of an accident since the head restraint device may not provide the support drivers and passengers need.
The manufacturer has offered owners the installment of a fully functional part instead of the faulty item free of charge. A visit will be scheduled once recalled vehicle owners contact the company.
The company has disclosed that this issue affected 569 vehicles.
As a Newport Beach car accident lawyer, I’m glad this recall was issued before any severe accident occurred as a result of this faulty head restraint. I encourage Ford vehicle owners to check their cars for the recalled models at once. Do not delay in contacting the company if you drive one of these possibly risky vehicles.
Whenever you or a dear family member is injured in an accident that was either caused by another driver or another vehicle equipped with a recalled and faulty part, you might like to contact a personal injury lawyer near you to assess your case.
