According to multiple news sources, a woman from Fort Irwin was killed in an accident that happened last night.
The official report issued by the California Highway Patrol has demonstrated that the 24-year-old woman was the occupant of a 2002 Pontiac that was traveling on the northbound lanes of the road between the Army post and Barstow.
According to the troopers who responded to the crash, the Pontiac was on the northbound lanes when it suddenly turned into the oncoming traffic. The CHP says that the vehicle drove straight into the path of a 1996 Honda around 9:41 in the evening for unknown reasons. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Pontiac continued to drive off the road and ended up overturning.
The 23-year-old Honda driver suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital promptly. The authorities declared the passenger in the 2002 Pontiac dead at the scene.
