Multiple local news agencies have revealed that a woman was unfortunately killed in a crash that took place on Highway 85.
According to the accident memo issued by the California Highway Patrol, a woman was traveling on the northbound lanes of the Highway 85 when she suddenly lost control of her vehicle, an Audi A4. Troopers who responded to the scene claim that the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The accident is now under investigation because according to one witness account, a second vehicle may have maneuvered in a dangerous way while attempting to change lanes, which forced the Audi off the road.
The possibly hit-and-run driver fled the scene of the crash, which is now under investigation.
Hopefully, the California Highway Patrol investigators looking into this accident will be able to determine the causes behind this accident so other drivers can learn from this occurrence and similar accidents can be avoided.
According to the authorities, the woman was declared dead at the scene. Highway 85 was closed at the Evelyn Avenue off ramp for about 40 minutes while the off ramp was completely blocked for hours after the accident.
At this moment, my heart and thoughts go out to the family and closest friends of the woman who was unfortunately killed in this terrible accident. I’ve witnessed accidents like this in the past and I know of the difficulties they face while attempting to cope with the loss of a loved one.
