Media sources indicated that a 24-year-old Long Beach woman is in critical condition after being struck in a hit-and-run accident Saturday morning.
Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman Lisa Massacani stated that the woman was crossing Broadway at Euclid Avenue around 1:50am Saturday morning when she was struck by a vehicle.
The victim was discovered by police and emergency crews underneath a parked car and transported to a nearby hospital where she remains in critical condition.
Massacani said, “She was most likely thrown by the force of the impact.” She also claimed that it was not readily apparent if she was walking in a marked crosswalk.
Police say their investigation indicates that the victim was struck by a light-colored, four-door vehicle, either a sedan or compact car, traveling west on Broadway. Witnesses reported that the car continued westbound for a few blocks before turning north on Loma Avenue.
Police are urging anyone with further information to come forward and aid their investigation.
