According to news sources, a woman who was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol was arrested Sunday after she crashed the motorcycle into the center median on Highway 1 near Vandenberg Air Force Base.
The accident took place north of Firefighter Road when the woman crashed the 2011 Harley Davidson she was riding into the center median, the California Highway Patrol said. The woman had apparently allowed the motorcycle to drift onto the center median and hit a drainage ditch. The woman was subsequently ejected from the motorcycle, while the motorcycle continued sliding on the roadway until it crashed into a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix.
Both occupants of the Pontiac sustained cuts to the face. The woman showed various signs of intoxication, the CHP said. She was arrested after being transported to an area hospital for treatment. She sustained multiple broken bones however her condition is now reportedly listed as stable.
