Multiple news organizations have revealed in recent articles that a tourist, possibly Irish, was involved in an accident that happened on a remote patch of the Highway 1.
According to the collision report issued by the California Highway Patrol, the 34-year-old man was spotted driving the wrong way on the southbound lanes of the highway in San Mateo County. The troopers who responded to the scene revealed that the man pulled to the side of the road to take some pictures when he noticed an Acura vehicle traveling straight at him. Both drivers veered off to the side of the road to avoid the collision but it was too late. The two cars collided head-on.
The authorities revealed that three people were severely injured in this accident. At this moment, the California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash to determine if alcohol was a factor.
It’s my hope as a personal injury lawyer Woodland Hills that the victims in this accident are recovering quickly from all the injuries they sustained in this accident. I encourage tourists to get acquainted with the American roadways and the traffic regulations in the country before engaging in any road trips. I’ve seen similar accidents in the past and too often, people involved in wrong-way crashes are not as lucky and do not survive the collisions. Please, drive carefully and attentively to avoid any tragic accidents.
